Privacy Policy
Clipd AI is provided by AX3 Partners LLC. Contact: getclipdai@gmail.com. This policy covers Clipd AI on iOS and Android. Features and controls can differ by app version; the consent and in-app account deletion controls described below are being introduced in the updated iOS app.
1. Videos and editing on your device
When you record or import a video, Clipd uses the selected media on your device. Video rendering, the editor, and your projects operate locally. Each project keeps a copy of the original footage, your edits, and (if available) the transcript of its speech on your device, so you can reopen and change it later.
Some editing features run entirely on your iPhone and send nothing to Clipd or AI providers: on-device caption transcription (Apple speech recognition, used only when it can run on the device), voice enhancement, background removal, face tracking for auto-reframe, sound effects, and voiceover recording. Find cuts does not upload the complete video to our editing backend. Copies you export to Photos, your gallery, or another app are controlled by you and that destination.
Find cuts requires clear spoken words in the video's audio. Silent videos and music-only clips cannot be processed by this speech-based feature.
2. What Find cuts sends and why
Before the updated iOS app sends audio for AI editing, it explains the sharing and asks you to explicitly choose Allow AI processing. You can decline and still use the camera and view saved clips. With permission, choosing Find cuts sends:
- Extracted audio, including voices and anything spoken, to private Supabase storage. Supabase provides authenticated backend execution and sends the audio to ElevenLabs for a transcript and word timestamps.
- Transcript text, word timestamps, and clip duration to OpenAI to suggest edits that remove pauses, stumbles, repetition, filler, and unnecessary introductions.
- The cut plan and word-by-word transcript back to your device, where the cuts are applied, captions can be created, and everything can be refined in the editor. The transcript is stored on your device inside the project.
Batch editing. If you add several videos to a batch, Clipd extracts each video's audio on your device and uploads it to private Supabase storage, where it waits in a queue and is processed one clip at a time as described above, even if you close the app. The resulting cut plan and word timings are held in our database only until your app downloads them, and are deleted then or after 7 days at the latest. Queued audio is deleted after processing, or after 24 hours if it is never processed.
AI assist. If you choose Suggest hook text or Suggest B-roll moments in the editor, Clipd sends the project's transcript text and word timings (not audio or video) to OpenAI to generate suggestions. The suggestions are returned to your device and are not stored by Clipd.
Audio and transcripts may contain personal information. Only process media you have permission to use. We do not send the full video or its frames to these AI services for Find cuts. We do not sell your personal information or use your recordings to serve targeted advertisements.
3. Account, subscription, and technical information
If you continue with Apple or Google, Supabase stores your provider identity and the profile information the provider returns, such as name and email address. We use this to authenticate your account. AI features require signing in with Apple or Google; older app versions may have created a guest identifier, which can no longer use AI features. Supabase also stores editing usage counts to operate the service and enforce limits.
If you allow notifications, Clipd stores your device's push notification token with your account so we can tell you when a batch clip is ready. Apple delivers these notifications. The token is removed when it stops working or when you delete your account.
Superwall provides onboarding, paywalls, and subscription functionality. It processes account identifiers, app/device information, events, and purchase or entitlement information. Apple or Google handles store payments; Clipd does not receive your full payment-card details. Providers also process connection metadata, such as IP addresses and request timestamps, for operation, security, and reliability.
4. Storage and retention
Clipd requests removal of temporary audio in Supabase after an editing request completes or fails. If cleanup is interrupted or fails, audio may remain until it is cleaned up. Temporary extracted audio on the device is also removed after processing. Apart from batch results held until your app downloads them (at most 7 days), Clipd does not intentionally save transcript or cut-plan content in its application database and does not intentionally log audio or transcript content in application error logs. OpenAI Responses requests set store:false, which disables response storage through that API feature; this is not a promise of zero retention by every service.
AI and infrastructure providers may retain submitted content or operational, safety, backup, or legal records under the applicable service settings, contracts, and policies. We do not promise immediate erasure from all provider systems. Projects, their transcripts, and exported videos remain on your device until you delete them. Account and usage records remain until deletion, subject to records legitimately required for security, financial reporting, or law.
OpenAI does not use API inputs or outputs to train its models by default. ElevenLabs' use of submitted data for model improvement depends on the account's data-use settings and applicable terms; it provides an opt-out. Clipd does not currently promise that every AI provider operates with zero retention or that ElevenLabs' model-improvement opt-out has been enabled.
5. Service providers and protection
We use Supabase, ElevenLabs, OpenAI, and Superwall for the purposes described above, and Apple and Google for sign-in and store purchases. Connections to the editing backend use HTTPS; temporary Supabase audio is private and requests require authentication. iOS stores sign-in tokens in Keychain; Android uses Android Keystore-backed storage. No system is completely secure.

We are responsible for selecting service providers and configuring their processing to protect information shared through Clipd. Contact us with questions about a provider or a deletion request.
6. Permissions and sharing
Camera and microphone permissions let you record video with audio and record voiceovers. Speech recognition permission is requested only if you create captions on your device. Notification permission is requested when you start your first batch. Photo-library access supports the latest-video preview and media selection. Files access covers media you select. Saving to Photos or a gallery and sharing to another app happen at your direction. You can change system permissions in your device settings. Clipd does not automatically publish your videos or offer a public social feed.
7. Your choices and account deletion
In the updated iOS app, Settings lets you review AI data sharing and withdraw AI permission. Withdrawing permission prevents future Find cuts, batch, and AI assist requests and cancels batch clips still waiting in the queue; it cannot undo data already transmitted. You may allow it again later. Removing the app clears its local files but does not by itself delete backend records; iOS Keychain information may survive app removal.
Use Settings → Delete account to initiate permanent account deletion in the updated iOS app. After confirmation and any required Apple identity check, Clipd removes your Supabase account, its identities/profile, linked editing-usage records, batch queue records, push notification tokens, and temporary audio associated with that account. It clears Clipd projects, saved clips, and sign-in state on this device. Copies exported to Photos or other apps remain there. Deletion does not automatically erase files on another device or records retained by payment/AI/infrastructure providers for permitted purposes. Contact us for help with those requests.
Deleting an account does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription. Manage subscriptions through the relevant store. Clipd provides an Apple subscription-management link before account deletion.
For access, correction, deletion, or other privacy requests, email getclipdai@gmail.com with the subject “Clipd AI privacy request.” Include the account email or support identifier needed to locate your records. Do not send passwords, sign-in tokens, or private video files. We may need to verify your identity before acting.
8. Children and changes
Clipd is a creator tool and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us. We may update this policy when the app or its processing changes. Material changes to AI recipients, shared information, or purposes require a new permission decision in the updated iOS app.
